Is it Safe to travel to Cabo?

That is a very common question every year. Before I answer that question, let me ask you a question. Do you plan on selling drugs in Mexico?

If the answer to that question is “Yes”, then you should probably rethink your plans and not go to Mexico.

If the answer to that question is “No”, then yes, it is safe to go to Cabo.

While there are U.S. Department of State warnings against traveling to other parts of Mexico, specifically for U.S. government employees, Cabo San Lucas currently has no travel restrictions. Additionally, according to the State Department Travel Advisory list for Mexico, the areas of Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and San Jose del Cabo currently have no U.S. government employee travel restrictions, including the entire state of Baja California Sur.

While we have your attention, let’s address the other million dollar question, “Is it safe to drink the water in Mexico?”. If you are at a nice resort, yes. If you are at a small hole in the wall taco stand with 3 donkeys in the kitchen, no.
