DOs and DON’Ts for Spring Break Cancun

DOs and DON'Ts for Spring Break Cancun

Every year, thousands of US college and High School students travel down to Cancun, Mexico to take advantage of the 18 year old drinking age, the gorgeous weather, the world famous clubs, and the debauchery known as Spring Break Cancun. Some people are super-planners and go down to Cancun with a laundry list of things they want to do, while others like to fly by the seat of their pants and figure it out along the way. We put together a short list of our top 5 DOs and DON’Ts for Spring Break Cancun.

DON’T dance on the bar ladies. It is so cliche and it is dangerous. You will slip on tequila or cerveza. Someone will get a nice view up your skirt. Men in the club will chant for you to show something that you may not want to show. Nothing good will come from it.

DO go to Chichen Itza. It’s the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico (over 1.2 million tourists per year), over 1,400 years old, and was just voted as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Tell mom and dad you plan to visit and maybe they’ll help pay for your trip!

DON’T take a taxi. There is no need to, the bus runs 24/7, goes everywhere you need to go, is only $1 per trip, and is actually pretty fun. It’s full of other drunk spring breakers and if you’re lucky, some locals will break out a guitar and play some musica.

DON’T pass out on the bus, you will end up downtown.

DO take pictures. You will see and experience a lot of crazy and interesting things that you will never want to forget. You will be drinking a lot and you will forget them.

DON’T spend all your time posting those pictures on facebook, tweeting about the weather, instagramming pictures of the beach, or checking in to every club you go to. Put your phone down, soak in the experience, and live the moment. You can also use Instagram video downloader to get all the pictures of you love ones.

DO go to the Taco Factory for late night. There’s great food, a cool outdoor eating atmosphere, and the hottest salsa ever that you must convince the drunkest person to eat. You will laugh so hard while fire comes out of both their ends that you will pee yourself.

DON’T pee in the street. You will go to jail. Enough said.

DO go to the Oasis Cancun during the day. This is the center for daytime partying in Cancun. There is a 1/4 mile long swimming pool with numerous swim up bars that will be packed with spring breakers. You don’t need to stay at this hotel to go during the day. They sell day passes in the lobby that give you access as well as unlimited drinks. Cheers.

DON’T get your hair braided. This is not a good look, for anyone. You will get an odd stripe sunburn on your scalp. It may sound like an awesome idea 7 shots of tequila in, but you will be the laughing stock of school when you return.

DO go out every night. Cancun has so many amazing clubs and the parties can’t be matched anywhere else. You may want to stay in for a night to save money, because you are tired/hung over, or some other reason. Put on your big boy or girl pants and suck it up. This is a main reason why you went to Cancun and you will be kicking yourself for not going out. Something awesome will happen, you will miss it, and your friends will talk about it forever.

Hope you found this helpful. If you have any DOs or DON’Ts of your own, let us know.
